James earned his BA in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology from the University of Oklahoma in 2004, and his MA in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology from the University of Tulsa in 2007. He has experience working across the South Plains (Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri) and North America (Virginia, Washington, North Dakota). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, running his dogs, fishing, hunting, and sports. James started Holt Consulting Services, LLC in 2011 based on experience gained from working in a variety of settings including museums, tribal agencies, and cultural resources companies. James is listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologists, and has permits with the BLM and ARPA permits with the Corps of Engineers.
